Clear Brook Farm has been conducting Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) Programs for 15 seasons. Our three unique programs help support our effort to provide healthy organic produce for our local community. While our Summer, Winter and Deep Winter CSA programs look very different, they are all great opportunities to help support our farm and your community.
Learn more about each unique program below!
While most CSA's give you a pre-selected box of produce once a week (similar to our Winter CSA), our Summer Share program is a "free choice" share which allows you the freedom and flexibility to visit our farm stand any time you choose, and purchase anything we sell at the farm stand during the season, be it plants, Clear Brook Farm organic produce, local cheese, baked goods, fruit, syrup, or anything else you choose. Plus, you never need to worry about being away on vacation and missing a pick-up! We will have a "gift card" at the counter with your name and balance on it, and every time you make a purchase it will be deducted from your balance. By pre-purchasing a summer share, you help Clear Brook Farm with spring startup costs including, seed, labor, fuel, and soils. In appreciation for your support of our farm by purchasing a CSA share, the value of your purchase will be more than just the monetary value that you have paid. Depending on the size share you purchase and your signup date, you will earn extra monetary credit on your card and will entitled to either 2 quarts(small share) or 4 quarts (large share) of free strawberries (hopefully pick-your-own, if the Covid situation allows for safe picking)
All CSA members who sign up by April 1, will qualify for free strawberries in addition to extra credit on your CSA card.
We have offered more than fifteen season of Winter Community Sponsored Agriculture (CSA) programs. Our Winter CSA offers 11 shares in 10 weekly pick-ups. Pick ups starts in early October and end the week before Christmas. We offer three different shares for you to choose from. When signing up, you choose one of the following share sizes: half pint share, small share, or large share. Each share gets a certain amount of produce throughout the winter. A Half Pint share, for example, could contain: potatoes, spinach, carrots, and shallots. A Small Share: potatoes, spinach, kale, carrots, beets, butternut squash, shallots. The Large (family) Share: potatoes, spinach, carrots, kale, beets, lettuce, brussel sprouts, braising mix, shallots, butternut squash. You can choose to pick up your weekly share at one of the below locations:
In the Winter, we offer two months of CSA pick ups, our "Deep Winter CSA", as part of the Clear Brook Farm CSA Program, in January and February. Space is limited and first come, first serve. We may offer spinach, carrots, beets, kale, lettuce, potatoes, onions, cabbage, napa cabbage, garlic, parsnips, winter squash, sweet potatoes and more! We also plan to offer bread, eggs, some cheeses and other meats through our online store.
This CSA will have pick ups every other Saturday starting at the beginning of January, continuing until the end of February. Dates change based on yearly calendar. We reserve Sundays as a snow day pick up option.
Cost: Cost $170 for the 4 pick-ups.
